Terms and Conditions (Pricing, Care, Risk and Liability)
Pricing Basis and Variations
All prices are based on standard and predictable labour times and are independent of the commercial value of the goods entrusted to us.
Final job pricing may vary — either higher or lower — where the design, stone characteristics, tolerances, or overall technical complexity of a piece require more or less time than is typically associated with the specified setting style. Any price list provided is intended as a guide only and does not constitute a fixed quotation unless expressly agreed in writing.
Care and Inherent Risk
All work is carried out with the utmost care and professional skill. However, setting, engraving, repair, and related bench processes inherently involve mechanical stress and unavoidable risk. Damage, including stone breakage, can occur even when reasonable care and professional skill are exercised.
By instructing A&F Setting, customers acknowledge and accept these inherent risks. A&F Setting shall not be held liable for damage, including stone breakage, arising during such processes where the damage occurs as an inherent risk of the work being undertaken despite the exercise of reasonable care and professional skill.
Dispatch, Transit and Insurance
Upon completion of work, items are returned via Royal Mail Special Delivery (tracked and insured), unless otherwise agreed in writing. Risk in the goods passes to the customer once the parcel has been handed to Royal Mail. In the unlikely event of loss or damage in transit, any compensation shall be limited to the amount recoverable under Royal Mail’s applicable insurance cover.
Customers are responsible for ensuring that adequate insurance is in place for the full replacement value of their items. Alternative shipping or insurance arrangements may be requested prior to dispatch. A&F Setting will provide reasonable assistance with any claim against Royal Mail where appropriate.
